What to Pack for Rajasthan (and What Not to Bother With)

A practical Rajasthan packing list by season, including the temple rules and desert-night mistake most visitors make.
Clothing
Cotton and linen that covers shoulders and knees — this is comfort as much as etiquette in temples. One warm layer for winter nights, always, even in the desert.
Shoes you can slip off fifteen times a day. Every temple and many fort sections require it.
Things travellers forget
A scarf for head covering at Ajmer Sharif and dust on the desert road. Electrolyte sachets. A power bank, because fort days are long. And leather-free footwear if Ranakpur is on your route, where leather items are not allowed inside.
